Remodelação de Moradia para Residência de Estudantes, Paranhos

O edifício alvo de reabilitação caracteriza-se por ser o resultado de duas fases de construção, uma do séc.XVIII e uma mais recente, anterior a 1950. Estas fases são visíveis na fachada da Rua Álvaro de Castelões (Porto).

O projeto de reabilitação procurou respeitar as características do desenho da construção burguesa ainda existentes, integrando as novas soluções técnicas e arquitetónicas e dotando o edifício do conforto e equipamentos exigidos atualmente. Os proprietários pretendiam potenciar uma moradia de família para alojamento local, destinada em exclusivo ao arrendamento universitário.

Serão mantidas todas as carpintarias em bom estado de conservação, nomeadamente escada, rodapés e pavimento. Os interiores serão reformulados para integração de um programa com 9 quartos. Irá ser dado destaque às áreas de utilização comum, sala e cozinha, com uma localização mais próximos do jardim sobranceiro à moradia. O jardim com aproximadamente 200 m2 constitui o maior desafio da intervenção, pois pretende-se que funcione como uma extensão dos espaços interiores da sala e cozinha.

A nossa intervenção funciona como mais um layer que se intersecta e sustenta no existente, numa reflexão equilibrada entre conservação, reabilitação e novas opções.

Renovation of a House for Student Residence, Paranhos

The building undergoing renovation is characterized by the result of two construction phases: one from the 18th century and a more recent one, prior to 1950. These phases are visible on the façade on Rua Álvaro de Castelões (Porto).

The renovation project sought to respect the existing characteristics of the bourgeois building’s design, integrating new technical and architectural solutions and equipping the building with the comforts and amenities required today. The owners intended to transform a family home for local accommodation, intended exclusively for university rentals.

All the carpentry in good condition was maintained, notably the staircase, baseboards, and flooring. The interiors were redesigned to accommodate a nine-bedroom program. The common areas, living room, and kitchen are highlighted, with a location closer to the garden overlooking the house. The garden, measuring approximately 200 m2, represents the greatest challenge of the project, as it is intended to function as an extension of the interior spaces of the living room and kitchen.

Our intervention serves as another layer that intersects with and supports the existing space, in a balanced reflection between conservation, rehabilitation, and new options.

This project is now a reality!
