Remodelação de Moradia, Vila Melgaço

Este projeto consistiu na reabilitação de uma moradia unifamiliar do século XX, localizada num gaveto privilegiado no centro histórico de Melgaço, com um amplo jardim virado a poente.

A intervenção teve como desafio preservar a identidade arquitectónica do edifício, inserido em zona especial de proteção, e ao mesmo tempo adaptá-lo aos padrões de conforto actuais, criando uma habitação funcional para os clientes, pensada para a fase de aposentação.

Optou-se por valorizar a integração urbana, mantendo as fachadas brancas e as cantarias de granito à vista, eliminando o envasamento cinzento existente. A nova solução confere continuidade ao muro em pedra e ao edificado vizinho. No tardoz, a ampliação ao nível do rés-do-chão foi pintada a branco, destacando-se da fachada original em cantaria.

O programa do rés-do-chão integra três suites, sala e cozinha em open space, enquanto o 1.º andar dispõe de uma suite adicional, instalação sanitária de serviço e zona social também em open space, com ligação directa ao pátio. Esta organização permite utilizar a moradia como uma única habitação ou como dois espaços independentes.

Uma remodelação que alia arquitectura contemporânea e tradição, criando uma casa confortável, integrada e preparada para novas vivências.

House Renovation, Vila Melgaço

This project involved the renovation of a single-family house from the 20th century, located on a privileged corner plot in the historic centre of Melgaço, with a spacious west-facing garden.

The main challenge was to preserve the architectural identity of the building, situated within a special protection zone, while adapting it to current standards of comfort and creating a functional home designed for the clients’ retirement years.

The design emphasised urban integration, maintaining the white façades and exposing the original granite stonework, while removing the existing grey base. This solution ensured continuity with the stone boundary wall and the neighbouring building. At the rear, the ground-floor extension was rendered and painted white, creating contrast with the original stone façade.

The ground floor layout includes three suites, an open-plan living and kitchen area, while the first floor offers an additional suite, a guest bathroom, and another open-plan living space connected directly to the patio. This flexible configuration allows the house to be used either as a single-family home or as two independent units.

A renovation that blends contemporary architecture with tradition, resulting in a comfortable and integrated home, ready for new experiences.
