4 Bedroom House Project, Porto
The base concept for this house was defined around three central ideas: the creation of open, interconnected spaces, maximizing natural light; the choice of a more industrial and brutalist aesthetic, to the client’s taste; and touches of color distributed throughout the various spaces, creating a holistic reading.
The house is located in a well-established area in the center of Porto, on a typical Porto lot, where the house faces the street and the courtyard extends to the rear. The street facade was designed with a layout of exposed concrete panels, with iron gates and frames.
The three floors that make up the house have distinct spatial layouts. On the street level houses is the garage, a bedroom and an accessible bathroom with access to the courtyard, and a laundry room. On the second floor are located the living areas with an open plan design, with the office, living room, and kitchen forming a single visual space, yet functionally separate. All private areas are located on the upper floor, with the suite facing north to the courtyard.
The exposed concrete wall next to the first flight of stairs connects the entrance hall and living room, bringing a raw texture to the living spaces without overpowering them. For all the ceramic details in the entryway, bathrooms, and kitchen cabinets, green and blue tones were chosen, contrasting with the wood and cement elements.
We hope to show you the finished project soon!
